Welcome to our first full season as the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. Don’t be apprehensive about the new moniker, you can still wear whatever you like and I can’t think of any reason to bow and curtsy at the theatre (however if this is how you regularly greet your friends, then please don’t let me stop you.) We haven’t changed and we don’t want you to either.

We’re fortunate to have the greatest audiences imaginable – game for adventure, open to love and ready to laugh – and we’re thrilled to share the 2011/12 season with you. Passion is at play at the John Hirsch Mainstage this season and is full of highlights including the world premiere of Grumpy Old Men: The Musical, a re-envisioning of Romeo and Juliet and a return of the irrepressible Shirley Valentine.

Tom Hendy Warehouse audiences will happily brace themselves for a stimulating season of high-voltage theatre full of strong-willed characters, adult-only content and a liberal dose of four-letter words in August: Osage County, which many are calling “the play of the decade” and Sarah Ruhl’s stimulating comedy IN THE NEXT ROOM or the vibrator play.
